The Michigan Donor Family Council (MDFC):
The Michigan Donor Family Council (MDFC) is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization consisting of donor families, transplant recipients, Gift of Life Michigan and Eversight liaisons, and donation advocates. The MDFC is an all-volunteer organization established in 2004.
Giving back to the community:
Assists transplant recipients with prescriptions and medical and personal needs by contributing to the Gift of Life Foundation.
Provide college scholarships to Michigan organ, eye and tissue donor family members, living donors, recipients and advocates of organ, eye and tissue donation.
Provide scholarships for students enrolled in the University of Toledo's Human Donation Science Program.
Sponsor donor families to attend the Donate Life Transplant Games of America, a multi-sport event for people who have had lifesaving transplant surgeries.
Provide comfort blankets to donor families in the hospital at the time of their loss. In the darkest hour of their lives, these families made the decision to donate their loved one's organ, eye and tissue to save and enhance lives.
At the annual Donor Family Gathering, we provide memorial sapling trees to donor families to plant in honor of their loved ones.
At the annual Donor Family Gathering, we make thousands of personalized buttons featuring the donor family's loved one.
Share our personal stories to inspire others to consider joining the registry.
Help develop the Michigan Donate Life license plate.
