Angela

My daughter Angela was known for her loving and giving spirit. She believed in helping others; especially those she felt could not help themselves.   Many of her friends recall that she was so willing to help others that she would borrow from a person that had to give to someone that had not.   In the end she gave the ultimate gift, the gift of life. Angela was a registered donor. When she passed in November of 2010 from an asthma attack her gifts of tissues and organs were donated to save, enhance and improve the lives of many.

Angela loved and enjoyed life. The fact that her final act allowed many others to continue living, continue loving and continue enjoying life is a tribute to her life.  Angela was truly an ‘Angel for Life’. I am so proud of my daughter and her decision to be a donor. In honor of her life I have become a registered donor. I want to do for my survivors what Angela did for me; make the decision to be a donor so that they don’t have to make it for me.   I have also become an active member of the Michigan Family Donor Council. My membership offers many opportunities to share Angela’s story and promote organ and tissue donation.

I urge everyone to find out more about organ and tissue donation and transplantation and to join the Michigan donor registry.
