2028 Transplant Games of America Travel Grant
The Michigan Donor Family Council (MDFC) is pleased to offer a $2,500 Travel Grant to help a Michigan donor family, including organ, eye, tissue, or placenta donor families and living donors, attend the 2028 Transplant Games of America, August 4–9, 2028, in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
This is a reimbursement grant. The recipient may be reimbursed for eligible travel-related expenses, and receipts are required. Submit all receipts to MDFC within two weeks of returning home from the Transplant Games.

Application Timeline: April 16 to April 30, 2028
Winner Announced: The week of May 15, 2028
We encourage Michigan donor families, living donors, and families of eye and tissue donors who plan to attend the Transplant Games to apply for this opportunity.
Applications will be available By April 1, 2028.

Comfort Blankets
The Michigan Donor Family Council provides beautiful comfort blankets to organ and tissue donor families at the time of their loss. We hope that this gift of compassion brings families some small amount of comfort.
Volunteers from across the state, including donor families and transplant recipients, have created comfort blankets to support others who have lost a loved one.

Wayne State University Officer Collin Rose
In 2016, The Michigan Donor Family Council made a financial contribution to Wayne State University Police Department in memory of Officer Collin Rose who died in the line of duty and gave the gift of life. The MDFC provided each officer and employee in the department with a Donate Life skull cap in Officer Rose’s memory with his badge number embroidered on the cap.
The Michigan Donor Family Gathering
The Michigan Donor Family Gathering is an annual event hosted by Gift of Life Michigan and Eversight that honors donors and the gifts of life, sight and mobility that they have given to help save and improve lives. At this event, the Michigan Donor Family Council provides spruce sapling trees to donor families in honor of their loved ones. Donor families are invited to bring photos of their loved ones to the event. The MDFC creates memorial lapel button pins of the photos for donor families who are often very grateful for this opportunity to remember their loved ones.
